Welcome to Carlsbad Village

With nearly 300 days of sunshine each year and an average temperature in the 70s, it is no wonder why so many people want to call Carlsbad home. Practically perfect weather isn’t Carlsbad’s only wonderful quality. Carlsbad residents are treated to seven miles of stunning white sand beaches, 67 miles of hiking trails, and over 20 public parks.

What really brings the community of Carlsbad together is the town center, Carlsbad Village, with bustling streets of happy residents and tourists shopping at the local boutiques and dining at delicious eateries. Carlsbad Village has the charm of an old-fashioned beach town with a mix of modern shops and award-winning restaurants sprinkled throughout. Looking for Target or Walmart? You won’t find the typical big box retailers in Carlsbad because it’s a town that embraces its original character.

Carlsbad has been rated the best place to live by numerous magazines over the years for its beauty and beaches, and also for being a rising star as a tech hub in America. Tech giants like Viasat and Thermo Fisher Scientific call Carlsbad home, providing many jobs and contributing to making Carlsbad a special place to live and work.

Carlsbad is also known as the Golf Capital as it is home to many of the major golf companies, including Taylor-Made, Adidas and Calloway. If you are a golfer, you will love to choose from a variety of first-class golf courses like La Costa and The Crossings.

Carlsbad is only 40 minutes north of downtown San Diego, “America’s Finest City,” where you will find world-renowned attractions like the San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park.

Eat

Carlsbad is considered a foodie town, with more than 100 eateries in Carlsbad Village offering residents everything from fine dining and gourmet gelato shops to casual fare and boutique coffee houses. In the Village, you will find award winning French eatery Jeune et Jolie, which was recently selected to Esquire magazine’s list of the 22 best new restaurants in America for 2019. It was the only San Diego County restaurant to make this year’s Esquire list. Sister restaurant Campfire, a rustic open-fire concept, earned a Bib Gourmand honor last spring from the Michelin Guide.

Drink

San Diego has been named by Food & Wine Magazine and other news outlets as the craft beer capital of the country. Carlsbad is home to many outstanding microbreweries, including Carlsbad Brewing Company, Burgeon Beer, and more. In the village you will find Barrel Republic, a mecca for craft beer lovers, as well as Pizza Port for delicious pizza and a variety of microbeer selections.

Enjoy craft cocktails at Campfire, like ‘okay please tequila’, a mix of mezcal, roasted green chili, jicama, lime and cilantro. In the mood for wine? Oak & Elixir offers small production, family estate wines from regions around the world, accompanied by delicious cheese plates all enjoyed in a swanky setting.
